I work with the National Marrow Donor Program at Carter BloodCare in Dallas, Texas and have been in the position as a recruitment coordinator for 7 years. I had been affiliated with the program for twelve years 7 of which were through volunteering with the NMDP..

I got involved with the program after a lost three aunts over a two year period from the battle with leukemia. I was informed that there was not enough African American / Blacks on the registry to make a big difference when a person was searching for a match so I decided to make a difference by giving my time to educate and recruit in the African American / Black community
